Easter Sunday

He is Risen! Encounter the Risen Christ at Lakeside on Easter morning! We will celebrate Christ’s resurrection with three services.

Times: 6:30 AM (Sunrise), 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM April 16th, 2017

Good Friday

Jesus gave Himself, proving God’s love for us. Join us on Good Friday as we remember in reverence and prayer what Jesus has done. Our service will begin with Scripture and music, telling the story of Jesus’ final moments as he went to the cross. Then we will pray as we visit prayer stations throughout the church.

Time: 6:30 PM April 14th, 2017

Maundy Thursday

Encounter Christ on Maundy Thursday at Lakeside. We celebrate the last supper, reenacting the time that Jesus shared with his disciples. It is a holy evening that will deepen your love of Christ. Childcare is available.

Time: 6:30 PM April 13th, 2017

Palm Sunday and Egg Hunt

This Sunday is Palm Sunday where we celebrate the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem. Our kids are going to be given Palms for waving just prior to each service. That means you want to be a little bit early if you want your children to participate. We will be having Palms in both services.

After church we will have the Egg Hunt. The eggs go fast! We will start the hunt a few minutes after the late service, so if you are coming back to church try and be there at 11:30 to insure you don’t miss it!

Spring Work Day

On Saturday April 8th at 9:00 am we are going to have a Spring Work Day to prepare the church for Holy Week. We have a lot to do, including:

1. Washing the outside of the Church,
2. Changing some of the beds in the front of the church,
3. Trimming plants,
4. Changing light bulbs in the sanctuary,
5. Replacing Sprinkler Heads,
6. General Organization around the church,
7. and work on the trees/area near the road.

We will also have activities that kids will be able to do like wiping down the toys.

We need some Easter Eggs

Our annual Easter Egg hunt is on April 9th and we are now collecting FILLED plastic eggs for all ages!  Please consider donating a minimum of 1 dozen eggs.  The more eggs, the more fun!  Also accepting bagged candy to fill the extra plastic eggs we have already!

Small Groups: March 19th

1. Read John 14:25–31 slowly do any words or phrases stand out to you?

2. The Holy Spirit is God felt in our lives. Have there been times in the past week that you have felt close to God? Times when you felt far?

3. Jesus tells his disciples not to “let their hearts be troubled” and to “not be afraid” (v 27), a difficult task considering what will soon happen to after this story (this is final speech to the disciples before he is taken to be crucified).  He clearly believes that God can sustain us even in difficult times. Has that happened in your life?

Humble ISD School board Candidate Forum

Lakeside has begun in recent months a considered outward push to serve our community in new ways, particularly through engagement with our schools. We are proud to be hosting two nights of “Meet the School Board Candidates” Forums on March 26th at 6:30 and April 4th at 6:30. If you are interested in the direction that ISD may take, a good place to start is by getting to know the people running for the School Board.

Lakeside can also use some help on both nights, as there will be many people in the building and we want to have it run as smoothly as possible.

You can RSVP on the facebook events March 26th and April 4th

A huge thank you to Sabrina Carr for bringing this opportunity to serve our community to us.  If you know of other ways we can engage with our schools and our community please let me know!
