The Holy sacrament of Communion is a major part of worship at Lakeside UMC and it is offered every Sunday during our 8:30 am service and on the first Sunday of each month during our 10:30 am service.
The United Methodist Church practices an “open table” concept for Communion. This simply means you do not need to be a member of Lakeside UMC or even a United Methodist to participate in Communion. The only requirement is that you desire God in your life.
When we celebrate Communion, our congregation is led by ushers to come forward towards the front altar to receive the sacramental elements and they are given time to pray at the altar, if they desire. A gluten-free bread is always available, too, for those that require it.
