The Holy Sacrament of Communion

Holy Communion is another major aspect of worship at Lakeside UMC and it is offered every Sunday during our 8:30 am service and on the first Sunday of each month during our 10:30 am service.
The United Methodist Church practices an “open table” concept for Communion. This simply means you do not need to be a member of Lakeside UMC or even a member of the United Methodist denomination to participate in our Holy Communion. The only requirement is that you are welcoming God into your life.
When we provide Holy Communion, our congregation is led by ushers to come forward towards the front altar to receive the sacramental elements and they are given time to pray at the altar, if they desire. A gluten-free option is always available, too, for those requiring it.
