What To Expect On Sunday

We understand coming to a new church can be difficult for some, particularly if you do not know what to expect. Lakeside UMC is a flourishing church and it is difficult to capture all that we do for each other and our community.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic we have adapted our Sunday worship to help keep you safe. We ask that those coming to worship to RSVP. It is not required but it helps us determine if we need to add a second service at 9:00 am. Face masks are required for everyone who is elementary-aged and older. We have configured our sanctuary to allow for social distanced seating. We have not yet begun to meet for Sunday School and Children’s Church. We are monitoring COVID-19 cases and will begin those ministries as soon as possible.

We Are A Neighborhood Church

Lakeside UMC is a friendly, neighborhood church. We have grown up with the surrounding neighborhoods. At our inception, we started worship in the cafeteria at Eagle Springs Elementary before moving into our current building in Summerwood (14303 West Lake Houston Parkway). Our congregation is comprised of your friends and neighbors and we are a great place for families at all phases of life and for those looking for a supportive community to grow in their faith.

Come As You Are

Lakeside UMC is made up of everyday people who simply desire a closer relationship with God and what truly matters. How you dress is not important and everyone is welcome. Sunday mornings you can expect to see people dressed casually or in suits. It really doesn’t matter. Worship is our focus, not what we wear.

Expect Great Music

Worship at Lakeside UMC is anchored by a band consisting of guitars, keyboards, drums, bass and more. We play music that ranges from modern to the most traditional. Even though we have an informal service, we maintain elements of worship that have been with the Christian church for thousands of years.

Expect A Dynamic Message

We work hard to deliver dynamic messages that are engaging, timely and culturally relevant. The weekly message is not just provided in the sermon, but it is embedded throughout the entire worship service through our music, prayers, communion, baptisms and other Holy sacraments. Our goal is to enable true worship that fills you with God’s presence and purpose.

We Are A United Methodist Church

We are a United Methodist Church and are part of the worldwide denomination that has over 12.3 million members. We work together with other Methodist churches in our area – and abroad – on missions and ministry. We believe that our strong connections make us better able to answer God’s call.
