As part of our series Creed, we have sought to examine the doctrinal elements of the Apostle Creed in Sunday School and during the service to look at how the beliefs change our lives. For the first two weeks, I shared about how I came to believe in God and to accept Christ as my savior. Next week, I have asked Madison Wentworth to share about how the Holy Spirit helped her through a difficult period in her life. This Sunday is not to be missed, as her testimony has great power. I have come to know the Wentworth family's story since I came to Lakeside. Over this last year and a half, I have had a chance to talk at length about their faith. I am really excited that Madison is willing to share what God has done in their lives with the congregation.
Like every week in Lent, our Adult Sunday school (at 9:30, you are welcome to come) and in our youth and children's classes we will be studying the Creed. This week we are examining what it means to say "I believe in the Holy Spirit" and what difference that makes in our lives.
This week our focus was on what Christians believe about Jesus. Our Scripture Lesson was John 1:14-18. I talked about coming to terms with the reality of my sin when I became a missionary in Zambia.

Small Group Questions
1. Read John 1:14-18 slowly do any words or phrases stand out to you?
2. Some of the words that Scripture applies to Jesus include: Messiah, King, Lord, Teacher, Savior. Which speaks to you right now?
3. Can you remember a time or a period in your life when you made a conscious decision to believe in Christ as your savior? Why? If not how did it happen over time? If you still have not, what is holding you back?
4. If Christ who is reveals the invisible God to us, based on what you know about Christ’s life—what does that tell us about God?
This week Lakeside has two opportunities to serve and help out the ministries of the church.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the gifts for the teachers at Lakeshore. Jessica Stringer, a member who works at Lakeshore, sent us this picture. They hung the card up in the break room and were thankful for some prayers as they get ready for the homestretch of the year.
Please Prayerfully Consider ...
Please pray if God could be calling you to be a mentor for an elementary age child. We hope to do more than simply give care packages at Lakeshore. The Lakeshore principal told us that there is a need for 10 mentors. Our hope is that we can answer the call and provide all 10 mentors to the school. I know it is a lot to imagine committing time outside your family, but it can make a huge difference in the lives of a child who is struggling.
With Schools having Spring Break this week, Lakeside will be open fewer hours and there is no youth on Wednesday.
