Dear Lakeside Family,

We are kicking off Stewardship 2023 with our theme: Rooted. Giving. Growing. We are called to be stewards of God's gifts to us. Stewardship is not a program, it is not a percentage, and it is not simply a part of our faith. Stewardship connects to every single thing that we do with our lives as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Stewardship connects us intimately to the mission and person of Christ. It draws us into deeper relationships with each other, with our neighbors, and with our God. To take stewardship seriously requires us to have an awareness of the problems and scarcity around us. It requires us to have compassion and hope for everyone that needs rescue and redemption in our world. And it requires us to step up and step out, even if we think that we aren’t quite ready, and be generous with the time, gifts, talents, money, and other resources that God has blessed us with.

And here is the result: when we are good stewards God is revealed! When we are good stewards, God’s kingdom is revealed. When we are good stewards, Jesus is glorified. 

In the coming weeks we will talk about stewarship. We will lift up how God has been present in our lives and in our community. Please look out for a letter from Pastor David and other information related to living out our collected covenenant to support Lakeside with our prayers, presence, gifts, service,  and witness. 

This Sunday, we have a group that will share their witness of God, please come and enjoy what God has done in their lives.

Please submit the names of those you would like to honor on All Saints' Day by October 26th to Jennifer at church@thelakesideumc.org.  Each family will light a memory candle in remembrance of those who have passed.

Sign up for our annual Trunk or Treat!  A trophy is ALWAYS a draw, right?!  You are welcome to set up your trunk as early as you see fit, but our event will begin at 5:30pm.  Not creative or competitve, don't let that stop you from doing a trunk!  We just want any and all to show up for our church & community!

Lake Houston Outreach is back with their second annual Fall Ball which will benefit local charities, ministries and causes in the Lake Houston area.
