Stewardship: Rooted, Giving, Growing in 2024Commitment Sunday is November 12, 2023: Save the Date Dear Lakeside Family, Our stewardship campaign for 2023 celebrates that we, as members of the Lakeside Church family, are firmly rooted in Christ, giving of our time, talents and treasure to God through by growing in our faith, our love of God, and our loving care of our neighbors. In chapter 2, verses 6-7 of his letter to the Colossians, Paul encourages the Church: “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Inspired by Paul’s words, and by the commitments and calling of our community of faith, our 2023 stewardship campaign theme is Rooted. Giving. Growing. Lakeside is a place where the roots of our faithfulness to Christ are nourished. Through our new Discipleship Team and the plans of our Board, we plan for 2024 and beyond to make this a home where our roots and branches of faith thrive. We can see the growth of our young as they serve and lead in worship and on mission trips. We can see the faith of our youngest believers grow as they experience VBS and learn in children’s worship each Sunday. Our stewardship has made — and will continue to make — these ministries possible. Our generosity is a clear expression of our thanksgiving to God for His many gifts to each of us, including our very lives. Our financial offerings also convey heartfelt confidence the calling of Lakeside UMC to be a place that welcomes all to grow in faith and to serve Jesus Christ by caring for our neighbors. Please join us as we gather on November 12 for Commitment Sunday. During worship that day, we will bring our commitments forward in an act of stewardship and discipleship. Grace and peace to you, Rev. David W. Johnson P.S. A copy of this letter along with pledge cards have been mailed to each family. |

Christmas ConcertDecember 10, 2023 Psalm 100 tells us to Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: Come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
If you would like to make a joyful noise for Christmas, get ready for our Christmas Concert on December 10th! Heath is looking for singers and musicians to join in the musical fun. Contact Heath if you would like to offer your gifts to Lakeside this Advent season. |
