Hey Lakeside friends,
If you would like to help make sure Lakeside is a safe place for children and youth, please stay for Safe Sanctuary training this Sunday. Safe Sanctuary is a system setup to protect vulernable populations from abuse and exploitation; plus it protects volunteers. All volunteers and employees are expected to comply with Safe Sanctuary standards and are expected to recertify biannually as part of their ongoing training. We will keep it brief but impadctful. Pastor's Bible Study on James begininng September 11, at  7:00PM.

This look into James will be a six-week inductive Bible study. It is a tool to help you dig deeper in your own personal Bible study time. There will be material provided. We will attach the booklet to the emails and have printouts in church.

Inductive Bible study is an approach to God’s Word focusing on three basic steps that move from a focus on the broad scope of the book to the specific passage with the hope of letting the text speak. The steps are observation (what does it say?), interpretation (what does it mean?), and application (what does it mean for my life?). Through these three steps, we apply inductive reasoning, which is defined as the attempt to use information about a specific situation to draw a conclusion.  Inductive Bible study is a valuable tool in understanding and applying the principles of God’s Word. Inductive Bible study can be done on many different levels. The shorter version is good for a brief devotional.
