Lakeside Youth Group is lead purely by parent volunteers. We need your help to keep our program fun and engaging while supporting our youth in their faith journey to becoming diciples for His kingdom. For details about our schedule and lesson plan, click here.
We need help with two different slots each week for Sunday afternoon youth groups. These two volunteers will run the Youth Group for the week they have signed up for.
Lesson Leader – This individual will facilitate the weekly lesson/discussion with the group. You will also help with activities or games as needed. A Lesson Leader can be a High School student that wishes to lead the lesson, as long as their parent can attend.
Second Adult – Help setup snacks, games or activities. Assist the Lesson Leader as needed.
We need your help with weekly snack donations and a special treat each month.
Weekly Snacks – Sign up to bring a snack item below each month. Snacks should be prepackaged. We will plan to provide these throughout the month.
Special Treats – Sign up for one of our monthly special treats each month. You will bring the treat, help get it setup and serve to Youth on that day. Some examples are Pizza, Taco Bar, Ice Cream Bar, or something holiday related or festive.
We need parents to take ownership of an Eat Serve Play activity to coordinate the activity, manage youth signups, and parent volunteers.
What is Eat Serve Play? Youth does a service project and has a special fun activity and meal all in a single event. See details below.
What is your role as the Lead? Plan the Service Project, Meal and fun Activity. Manage parent volunteers for the event and coordinate signups.
During the summer months and occasionally throughout the school year our students participate in purposefully designed activities that center around service projects. The name of the event speaks for itself, the students begin the day in service (past project locations include: Houston Food Bank, HAAM, Step Healthy Day, Arbor Terrace Retirement Community), then share a meal together and usually end with some time in fellowship doing something recreational like mini-golf or attending an improv comedy show.
