Glorify God and make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by welcoming all neighbors home to grow in faith and serve Christ. 

Dear Friends,

On Sunday, we had the joy of welcoming the Baker family as they brought sweet Emilia forward for the sacrament of holy baptism. What a beautiful reminder this was of God’s grace at work among us. John Wesley, in his Treatise on Baptism, speaks to the deep meaning of this sacred moment. He reminds us that Jesus called for the little ones to be brought to Him — and that infants can only come by the hands of those who love them and long for them to know the love of Christ.

Baptism is an act of trust, of hope, and of faith. It is an expression of a family’s desire for their child to grow in God’s grace. And it is also a calling for us as a church — to surround this family, and all families, with love and support as we share the journey of faith together.

Let us be faithful to the covenant we made: to uphold the Bakers with our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness — as we seek to be the hands and heart of Christ for them and for all.

With all the trips, staycays, and other opportunities it is easy for our faith to hit the back burner. I hope that you continue to grow in the faith and love this summer. I am including the link to two short plans on the Bible App that I hope will help you along the way. One is about discipling and raising faithful children and one is about prayer, the topic of next weeks sermon. Both of these are starting on June 23, 2025. Click the link to join up with your church in daily study. These are opportunities to have our faith nurutred on the go as well. Each plan invloves a short devotional that you can read or listen to, plus some scriptures to read and reflect with God.
