Family VBS Evenings at Snowball Mountain
Find Your Strength in God

Life can feel like a climb sometimes—full of challenges, unknowns, and moments that stretch us. But what if this summer, your family discovered that you don’t have to climb alone?

At Snowball Mountain, we’ll explore the promise of Philippians 4:13:
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Family VBS is designed for everyone—kids, youth, and adults—to grow in faith together in a way that’s meaningful, engaging, and fun.

Each evening begins around the table with a shared meal at 5:30 PM—a chance to slow down, connect, and be reminded that we belong to a community.

After the meal, we gather for a high-energy large group experience filled with music, storytelling, and a message that helps us see how God strengthens us for every step of the journey. Then we break out into age-based groups where children, youth, and adults can dive deeper, build friendships, and discover what it looks like to trust God in everyday life. We will end with worship and recap each night.

Whether you’re navigating a busy season, facing something difficult, or simply looking for a place to grow, Snowball Mountain is a space where your family can find strength, encouragement, and hope—together.

Come climb with us. God will meet you every step of the way.

Confirmation 2026

Confirmation 2026

Spring Confirmation Schedule - Sunday, April 19, 2026

We’re looking forward to gathering again for Confirmation Class this Sunday! This week, we’ll begin exploring the vows of the United Methodist Church—what they mean, why they matter, and how they shape our lives as followers of Christ.

As we start this conversation, we’ll connect these promises to the bigger story of faith—wrestling with sin, receiving God’s grace, and considering how we live out our faith in the world around us. These vows aren’t just words we say—they are an invitation into a life of faith, commitment, and community.

If you’d like to read more about these membership vows, you can find them here: https://www.umc.org/en/content/the-baptismal-covenant-membership-vows

We’re excited to keep walking this path together as our confirmands grow in understanding and commitment. See you Sunday!

Families, we encourage you to continue the conversation at home. Ask your student what stood out to them and share how you’ve experienced God’s grace and lived out these commitments in your own life.

Grace and peace,

David

Youth Service Opportunities

Youth Service Opportunities

Hey Lakeside family!

This Sunday, April 19th, our Youth Group is getting ready to plug in to an awesome lesson on Counter Culture—discovering what it looks like to stay connected to Christ and live out our faith boldly in today’s world.

A huge thank you to the 4 volunteers who are already plugged in and serving—this ministry runs because of you! We still have open spots for April 26th, so if you’ve been thinking about getting involved, this is your moment to plug in and make a difference in the lives of our students. If you aren't sure yet, you can always stop by as an observer.

Head to the link below to sign up—it only takes a few minutes, but the impact lasts far beyond Sunday.

Childrens Ministry Volunteers

Childrens Ministry Volunteers

Lakeside’s Children’s Ministry is a place where faith is planted, curiosity is welcomed, and children are reminded that they are deeply loved by God and by their church family. Each Sunday, we have the joy of walking alongside our youngest disciples as they learn Bible stories, ask big questions, and experience God’s love in age-appropriate and meaningful ways.

We are seeking volunteers who are willing to share their time, care, and encouragement with our children. You don’t need to be a teacher or Bible expert—just someone with a willing heart and a desire to make a difference.

Volunteers help in a variety of ways, including assisting on Sunday mornings, supporting special events, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for kids and families. Schedules are flexible, and training and support are provided.

When you serve in Children’s Ministry, you’re doing more than filling a role—you’re helping shape faith, build confidence, and create a church where families feel at home. Even a small commitment can have a lasting impact.

If you’d like to learn more or are interested in serving, we’d love to talk with you. Please fill out an interest form, reach out to the church office, or speak with a member of the Children’s Ministry team.

Thank you for helping Lakeside be a place where children are known, loved, and encouraged to grow in faith.

Calling Creative Youth: Help Tell the Lakeside Story

Calling Creative Youth: Help Tell the Lakeside Story

Do you have a high school student who loves creating videos, designing graphics, taking photos, or coming up with fun social media ideas? Lakeside is inviting our youth to use their creativity and voice to help shape how we share the story of our church online.

We are launching a Youth Social Media Content Creator Interest opportunity for high school students who want to help create content for Lakeside’s social media platforms. This is a chance for students to:

  • Use their creative gifts in a meaningful, faith-centered way

  • Learn practical skills in content creation, storytelling, and digital communication

  • Be part of a team that helps represent Lakeside to our wider community

  • Earn service hours and gain experience that can be valuable for school, college, or future careers

Youth will never be asked to manage accounts independently or post without adult guidance. This opportunity will be supervised and designed to be fun, collaborative, and age-appropriate.

Parents and students are encouraged to scan the QR code and complete the interest form to let us know who might like to participate. Completing the form does not commit your student—it simply helps us gauge interest and plan next steps.

We believe God has given our youth powerful voices and creative minds. This is one way they can help share faith, joy, and community beyond the walls of the church.

Help Us Support Our Youth

Help Us Support Our Youth

At Lakeside, we believe our youth are not only the future of the church—they are a vital part of the church right now. Our students are involved in sports, fine arts, clubs, service organizations, and community activities that shape who they are becoming. We want to celebrate them, pray for them, and show up for them in meaningful ways.

To do that well, we need your help.

We are asking all parents and guardians to complete the Youth Photo Consent & Community Organization Form (accessible by scanning the QR code). This short form serves two important purposes:

  1. Photo & Video Consent – It allows us to responsibly share photos and videos of youth activities for church communications and social media, helping us tell the story of what God is doing in and through our young people.

  2. Community Involvement Survey – It helps us learn where our youth are already active so we can better support them as a church—through prayer, encouragement, presence, and witness the things that bring them joy.

When we know where our youth are spending their time, we can be more intentional about being the body of Christ beyond Sunday mornings.

Please take a few moments this week to scan the QR code and complete the form for each child or youth in your household. Your participation helps Lakeside walk alongside your family and cheer on our students wherever they are growing and serving.

Thank you for partnering with us as we seek to love, support, and invest in our youth—together.

Youth Volunteers Needed

Youth Volunteers Needed

Lakeside family, we invite you to be part of the important work God is doing in the lives of our young people. One of the ways we live out our mission is by welcoming home youth into a growing relationship with God—and you can help make that happen!

We are looking for adults who are willing to:
• Volunteer on Youth Sundays
• Donate snacks or special treats
• Lead or help support events

Your presence, encouragement, and care make a real difference. If you feel called to support our teens in any of these ways, please sign up using the QR code or contact us for more information.

Thank you for helping us nurture the faith of the next generation!
